Our Seminars
Our seminars are based on the theory that all partnership dances require techniques and a balanced mastery of three primary facets.
- Control
- Partnership
- Expression
Along with these three faces of dance, we also deal with the overlapping skillls.
- Control/Partnership
- Partnership/Expression
- Expression/ Control
Surrounding all is environment.
Control:
All the skills necessary to make your body do the movements you ask of it. This includes techniques in:
Posture, Footwork, Balance, Dance frame, Lead focus, etc.
Partnership:
Learning to pay attention to your partners weight, intention and balance as well as learning to respond in a way that promotes comfort.
Expression:
Learning to listen, respond and communicate to your partner the accents and rhythms suggested by the music.
Environment:
Environment includes all facets we have little or no control over such as...
State of the floor (Slippery, sticky), # of people on the floor, their skill level, our own mood, etc.
